The diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis is based on two or more of the following findings:
a.Patients who have had abdominal pain of > 6 months duration without diabetes
b.Patients with history of recurrent acute pancreatitis with > 3 episodes of pain associated with imaging diagnostic of acute pancreatitis and/or elevated serum amylase or lipase 3 times normal.
c.CP diagnosed by Pancreas calcifications on CT scan, or abnormal ERCP; ductal or parenchymal abnormalities on Endoscopic ultrasonography,
d.Histopathologic confirmed diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis
Ability to give informed consent
1.Age less than 18 or more than 60 years
2.CP patients with diabetes
3.CP patients with other comorbidities and Patients with grossly atrophic pancreas on imaging
4.CP patients with malignancy
5.Pregnant or lactating women
6.Inability to give informed consent.
