Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\.Adult patients (18 â?? 65 years)
- •2\.Severe burns involving 40 â?? 80% TBSA (excluding 1st degree burn area)
- •3\.Admitted to ICU within 24 hours of injury
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\.Refusal of consent
- •2\.Extremes of body mass index (BMI less than 17 or more than 35\)
- •3\.Extremes of body stature (height less than 150 cm or more than 190 cm)
- •4\.Patients who have received more than 6 hours of formal fluid resuscitation prior to ICU admission
- •5\.Hemodynamically unstable patients on moderate to high dose vasopressor support (noradrenaline requirement more than 0\.1 mcg/kg/min or equivalent)
- •6\.Pregnancy
- •7\.Extensive deep burns involving anterior torso limiting scope for repeated POCUS assessment due to difficulty in obtaining an ultrasound window
- •8\.Known cardiac disease
- •9\.Chronic kidney disease on haemodialysis
- •10\.Chronic decompensated liver disease (Child\-Pugh C)
