1. Subjects presenting to the ED with chest pain and being diagnosed as a case
of Non Cardiac Chest Pain by the Emergency Department physician or a
cardiologist.
2. Both males and females
3. Age group- All adults above the age of 18.
4. Subjects who can understand English
1. A rise and/or fall pattern of Cardiac troponin I and Cardiac troponin C values
with at least 1 value above the 99th percentile upper reference limit indicating
myocardial injury.
2. Acute myocardial infarction indicated by presence of acute myocardial injury
with clinical evidence of acute myocardial ischaemia and with detection of a rise and/or fall of cardiac troponin values with atleast 1 value above the 99th percentile upper reference limit and at least 1 of the following:
a) Symptoms of myocardial ischaemia
b) New ischaemic ECG changes- New ST-elevation at the J-point in 2 contiguous leads other than leads V2 and V3 where the following cut
off points apply: >= 2mm in men >=40 years, >=2.5mm in 2 contiguous leads with prominent R waves or R/S ratio >1.
c) New horizontal or downsloping ST-depression >= 0.5mm in 2 contiguous leads and/or T-wave inversion > 1mm in 2 contiguous leads with
prominent R waves or R/S ratio >1.
d) Development of pathological Q waves on ECG.
e) Echocardiogram showing new loss of viable myocardium or new regional wall motion abnormality in a pattern consistent with ischaemic etiology
f) Identification of a coronary thrombus by angiography.
3. History of trauma to the thorax
4. Patients diagnosed with Alzheimers and dementia.
