Age >18 years
Inpatient withdrawal treatment due to alcohol dependence according to ICD-10 criteria
Acute suicidal behaviour
Acute psychotic disorder
Lack of capacity to consent
Severe withdrawal symptoms
Pregnancy
Presence of a defibrillator/pacemaker/brain stimulator
Implantation of intracranial metals (e.g. plates, screws)
Patients with an open skull, after skull trepanation
Patients with skin damage at/near the stimulation sites
