Inclusion Criteria

18 - 30 years of age
subjective free range of motion of both wrists
informed consent
right hand dominant regarding the use of pens, screw drivers and scissor
on average up to 3 hours per week physical activity with elevation or stretching of the shoulders during the last 6 months

Exclusion Criteria

no physical strain on examination day
inflammatory joint disease (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis)
connective tissue disease
pregnancy
previous operations on shoulder, elbow or wrist
previous injury on the shoulder below skin level
scar contractures on the upper body, shoulder or upper arm
tendency of swelling or swelling of the hands
congenital axial deviation of the bones or joint deformity
subjective or objective reduced range of movement of one shoulder within the last 4 weeks
fall onto shoulder or elbow within the last 4 weeks
pain during shoulder movement
known shoulder impingement
known complaints of cervical spine
paraesthesia, hyperalgesia, hypaesthesia, dysfunctional proprioception
tremor
nerve compression syndrome
feeling of weakness within the last 4 weeks
intake of NSAIDs or cortisone
fatigue/tiredness at the time of examination
current situation of stress
dysthymia
