1. Patients of age >40yr of age diagnosed as senile nuclear cataract grade III - V according to grading of nuclear hardness depending upon its colour.
2. Patients ready to give written informed consent.
1. Any anterior segment disease, corneal disease which interferes with visual acuity.
2. Any fundus pathology which interferes with visual acuity.
3. Any complicated cataract other than senile nuclear cataract are excluded.
4. Pre-exsisting astigmatism >2dioptres
5. Previous ocular surgeries/trauma
6. Chronic glaucoma
7. Patients with inadequate follow-up.
