Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Systemically healthy patients
  • 2\. Bilateral moderate or advanced periodontitis in at least one arch which required periodontal surgery as confirmed by radiographs.
  • 3\. Previous history of treatment in both quadrants must be similar and the type and extent of surgical therapy indicated must be the same on both sides
  • 4\. minimum of 20 teeth
  • 5\. periodontal probing depth (PPD) equal to or greater than 5mm.
  • 6\. Consenting patients who are co\-operative and able to come for regular follow up

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Pregnant /lactating women
  • 2\. Patients on antibiotic or NSAIDs therapy in the previous six months.
  • 3\. Patients who have undertaken any periodontal therapy in past 6 months
  • 4\. Smokers
  • 5\. Patients who are medically compromised or under therapeutic regimen that may alter the probability of tissue healing.
  • 6\. Patients who are known or suspected to be allergic to curcumin.
