Functional endoscopic sinus surgery is commonly performed for chronic sinus disease. Postoperative mucosal healing plays an important role in surgical success and long term symptom relief. Poor healing may result in crusting adhesions or restenosis of sinus openings.
This randomized double blinded clinical trial is designed to compare mucosal healing following functional endoscopic sinus surgery using two different postoperative nasal packing agents triamcinolone and mitomycin C. Eligible patients undergoing sinus surgery will be randomly allocated to receive either triamcinolone impregnated nasal packing or mitomycin C impregnated nasal packing at the end of surgery. Both patients and outcome assessors will be blinded to the intervention.
Postoperative healing of the nasal mucosa will be evaluated using standardized endoscopic image analysis at predetermined follow up intervals. The study aims to assess epithelialization edema crusting and synechiae formation in both groups.
The results of this study may help identify the more effective nasal packing agent for improving mucosal healing and reducing postoperative complications following functional endoscopic sinus surgery.

入选标准
- •1.)Diagnosed with chronic rhinosinusitis with/without polyps.
- •2.)Age 18-60 years.
- •3.)Scheduled for FESS.
- •4.)Willing to give informed consent.
排除标准
- •1.)Previous nasal surgery.
- •2.)Known allergy to Triamcinolone or Mitomycin-C.
- •3.)Uncontrolled diabetes or bleeding disorders.
- •4.)Pregnancy/lactation.
