small for gestational age neonates birth weight less than 1500 grams started on feeds within 48 hours of life
1)Major congenital malformation including Tracheo-Esophageal Fistula, Oesophageal Atresia, duodenal atresia interfering or delaying feed initiation
2) Chromosomal abnormalities
3) Intestinal perforation before initiation of feed
4) Infants with absent or reversed end diastolic flow (AEDF/REDF) in antenatal usg
5) Infants who are severely sick, on invasive ventilation with shock (on inotropes)
