  • •i)ASA class I\-III
  • •ii)Patients able to give written informed consent
  • •iii)Patients requiring total abdominal hysterectomy
  • •Are the trial subjects under 18? no
  • •Number of subjects for this age range:
  • •F.1\.2 Adults (18\-64 years) yes
  • •F.1\.2\.1 Number of subjects for this age range
  • •F.1\.3 Elderly (\>\=65 years) yes
  • •F.1\.3\.1 Number of subjects for this age range

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Exclusion criteria
  • •i)Patients requiring total abdominal hysterectomy secondary to neoplasia
  • •ii)History of allergy to any of the medications used in the study
  • •iii)Preoperative use of opiates
  • •iv)Patients unable to use patient controlled analgesia system
