  • i)ASA class I\-III
  • ii)Patients able to give written informed consent
  • iii)Patients requiring total abdominal hysterectomy
  • Are the trial subjects under 18? no
  • Number of subjects for this age range:
  • F.1\.2 Adults (18\-64 years) yes
  • F.1\.2\.1 Number of subjects for this age range
  • F.1\.3 Elderly (\>\=65 years) yes
  • F.1\.3\.1 Number of subjects for this age range

Exclusion Criteria

  • Exclusion criteria
  • i)Patients requiring total abdominal hysterectomy secondary to neoplasia
  • ii)History of allergy to any of the medications used in the study
  • iii)Preoperative use of opiates
  • iv)Patients unable to use patient controlled analgesia system
