1.Normotensive in evening before surgery PAC with no H/O hypertension
2.Patients of either sex, aged 20-50 years
3.Presence of elevated blood pressure i.e., SBP 120-150 mmHg or DBP 80-90 mmHg inside OT
4.Requiring general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation for intraabdominal surgery
1.Presence SBP more than 150 mmHg or DBP more than 90 mmHg inside OT
2.Laparoscopic surgery, epidural analgesia use 3.History of ischemic heart disease, 4.cerebrovascular disease, impaired liver, or renal functions.
5.Patients with anticipated difficult airway.
Patient having bradycardia (HR �50 beats/minute) and heart block
6.Patients with diabetic mellitus.

Name Time Method �Changes in blood pressure after infusion of dexmedetomidine before induction of anesthesia.Timepoint: Data will be taken baseline, 5 min after infusion, 10 min after infusion, 1 min after intubation, 5 min after intubation, at the time of incision, 15 min of incision, 30 min of infusion, 1min after extubation, 5 min after extubation
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Hemodynamic response to intubation, intraoperative hemodynamic parameter, Amount of propofol necessary for induction, incidence of bradycardia, dry mouth and respiratory depression, PONV or any side effect of study drugs will be evaluated as secondary objective.Timepoint: maximum 48 hrs
