Comparing the placement of thoracic epidural catheter(a fine plasic tube in between the layers of spinal cord in backbone)which provides the best quality of postoperative pain relief in first attempt by using either ultrasound or CT with ultrasound guided technique by anesthesia doctor.

Inclusion Criteria
Adult patients of ASA 1/2/3 , Undergoing major abdominal surgeries requiring lower thoracic epidural catheterisaion having CT scan done as a part of surgical workup
Exclusion Criteria
use of Anticoagulants/antiplatelet medications/nfecions at insertion site/ allergy to local anesthetics/prior spine insrumenation surgeries/ spinal deformities like kyphosis/scoliosis
