简要总结
Skin diseases are common inflammatory conditions that significantly affect quality of life. In Ayurveda, Vicharchika and Dadru are described under Kushtha Roga and present with symptoms such as itching, eruptions, discoloration, and erythema. Vicharchika is predominantly associated with Kapha-Pitta vitiation and clinically resembles eczema, whereas Dadru is mainly Pitta-Kapha predominant and correlates with fungal infections like tinea. Although these conditions share certain clinical features, their underlying pathogenesis differs according to Ayurvedic principles.
Modern biomedical research recognizes inflammatory biomarkers such as Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), C-reactive Protein (CRP), and Interleukin-6 (IL-6) as indicators of systemic inflammation in dermatological disorders. However, there is limited evidence correlating these biomarkers with specific Ayurvedic skin diseases or differentiating between conditions like Vicharchika and Dadru.
The present analytical observational comparative study aims to evaluate and compare inflammatory biomarker patterns (ESR, CRP, and IL-6) in patients diagnosed with Vicharchika and Dadru. A total of 40 participants(20 Each group) fulfilling the diagnostic criteria will be recruited from the OPD/IPD of Khemdas Hospital using purposive sampling. Clinical features will be documented and blood investigations will be performed to estimate biomarker levels. The collected data will be statistically analysed to identify significant variations in inflammatory markers between the two groups.
This study attempts to bridge Ayurvedic clinical concepts with modern inflammatory parameters and may contribute to improved diagnostic differentiation and evidence-based understanding of these dermatological conditions.
