All individuals with 18-60 years of age undergoing elective surgeries in JIPMER belonging to ASA class of 1 & 2 planned for general anaesthesia with orotracheal intubation.
1 Patients undergoing laparoscopic surgeries
2 Patients who require elective ventilation post operatively and hence not extubated
3 Patients with high risk of aspiration preoperatively like GI obstruction including GOO, Achalasia cardia, etc.
4 Pre-existing laryngeal diseases
5 Patients expected to have profound hypotension during the surgery
6 Patients for whom rapid sequence intubation is planned
