Only renal transplant patients with renal function who have undergone elective abdominal surgery at the Department of General and Visceral Surgery of the University Hospital of Freiburg will be enrolled. Also patients after emergencies are evaluated and considered separately. Surgery related to the transplant kidney (such as urethral leakage) will not be considered.
Patients after transplantation, as well as combined transplantation and dialysis-dependent patients are excluded.
At the time of inclusion in the study, there must be preserved graft kidney function and no need for dialysis.
As a control group, patients were selected who underwent abdominal surgery in the Division of General and Visceral Surgery of the University Hospital Freiburg between 2005 and 2015. Eligible patients must have a preserved kidney function without a history of transplantation.
Limited kidney function, need for dialysis, multiple organ transplantation

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Comparison of the rate of surgical complication of kidney transplant patients with patients without organ transplantation
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Comparison of all characteristics between the kidney-transplanted cohort and the group of non-transplanted patients. All secondary outcome measures are also examined for their correlation to eventual complications.<br><br>Descriptive patient data:<br>- Age at surgery<br>- Gender<br>- Primary diagnosis that has led to kidney transplantation<br>- Type of operation (elective / emergency)<br>- Hospital stay<br>- Type of intervention<br>- Number of kidney transplants<br>- Past time since kidney transplant<br>- mortality<br>- Rate of new operations / revisions<br><br>Therapeutic parameters:<br>- immunosuppression (pre- and postoperative)<br><br>Laboratory chemical parameters:<br>Comparison of the pre- and postoperative<br>- Creatinine value<br>- Urea value<br>Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR)
