- Brief Summary
There was no evidence of an effect of the videos on suicidal ideation in the total intervention group. Nonbinary/transgender youth experienced a small- sized improvement in suicidal ideation [T2: mean change (MC) from T1 MC=-0.20 (95% CI -0.39 to -0.02); P=0.01, mean difference (MD) compared with the control group MD=-0.54 (95% CI -1.01 to -0.08); P=0.02; d=-0.10]. Effects appeared pronounced for nonbinary/transgender youth with severe depressive symptoms. There was a positive indirect effect on suicidal ideation through identification with the protagonist. A short-lived improvement in help-seeking intentions could be observed for the total intervention group [T2: MC=0.25 (95% CI 0.15 to 0.35); P<0.001, MD=0.28 (95% CI 0.01 to 0.54); P<0.05; d=0.09].
