Patients undergoing arthroscopic subacromial decompression and/or acromio-clavicular resection under general anaesthesia as daysurgery at Horsens Hospital, Denmark.

Incompetency, pregnancy, age below 18 or above 90 years, allergy toward dexamethasone, diabetes, active gastric ulcer, untreated hypertension, glaucoma, daily use of glucocorticoid or morphine, daily use of analgesics for pain elsewhere than the shoulder to be operated, myasthenia gravis, mitochondrial disorders.
