Dexmedetomidine is a highly selective alpha 2 adrenergic receptor agonist that acts on the locus ceruleus to produce dose dependent sedation with no respiratory depression and only modest hemodynamic effects. The aim is to compare the efficacy of two methods of administering intranasal Dexmedetomidine on the quality of extubation, hemodynamic responses and post operative sedation .

入选标准
- •1.Patients posted for elective surgeries under general anesthesia 2.American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I and II 3.Age: 20 – 60 Years 4.Surgeries with a duration of 60-120 minutes.
排除标准
- •1.Patients with any nasal pathologies like nasal polyp 2.Patients undergoing upper thoracic and cardiovascular surgeries.
- •3.History of allergy to the drugs, which will be used in the study.
- •4.Patients with psychiatric disorders.
- •5.Patients on anti-hypertensive medications 6.Pregnant women 7.Surgeries with a duration of less than 60 minutes or beyond 150 minutes.
