- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To evaluate the action of methylene blue in a solution of 0,25% sodium dodecylsulfate in phosphate-buffered saline as an adjunct to the treatment of periodontitis, verifying the amount of colony forming unit of microbiological samples collected before and after the application of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To compare the effect of methylene blue in phosphate-buffered saline with methylene blue in a solution of 0,25% sodium dodecylsulfate in phosphate-buffered saline; evaluating the reduction of periodontal pockets through the following periodontal clinical parameters: clinical probing depth, which measures the distance between the gingival margin and the bottom of the pocket; the bleeding on probing index; and the clinical attachment level, which measures the distance between the enamel-cement junction and the bottom of the pocket
