(i) Patients with acute pancreatitis diagnosed as per revised Atlanta classification
(ii) Hospitalisation within 14 days of onset of pancreatitis (iii) Patient suspected to have infected acute fluid collection (iv) Providing consent for study
(i) Age < 18 years, >75 years
(ii) Patients with systemic organ dysfunction in the form of altered sensorium and/or hypotension requiring inotropic support and/or respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation and/or acute kidney injury requiring hemodialysis at the time of enrolment in the study.
(iii) Other major co-morbid conditions e.g. Acute myocardial infarction, major gastrointestinal bleeding, chronic kidney disease, cirrhosis of the liver, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.
