Inclusion Criteria

1) American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) Grade II, III

2) Basal Metabolic Index (BMI) >30

3) Patients scheduled for laparoscopic bariatric surgery under general anaesthesia

Exclusion Criteria

Patients with

1) Heart Block or severe ventricular dysfunction,

2) Allergy to Alpha 2 adrenergic drugs,

3) hepatic impairment,

4) Hypotension,

5) Bradycardia,

6) pregnancy or breast feeding.

Prior to induction, <br/ ><br>2. After endotracheal intubation, <br/ ><br>3. At the time of Gastric calliberation tube (GCT) insertion, <br/ ><br>4. At the time of incision, <br/ ><br>5. At the time of start of carbo-peritoneum, <br/ ><br>6. At the time of reverse Trendelenburg positioning, <br/ ><br>7. At the time of carbo-peritoneum release, <br/ ><br>8.
