- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Serum I-FABP, L-FABP and urine Claudin 3 as measures for gut wall integrity.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method The presence of intra-abdominal injury necessitating therapeutic intervention, SIRS-score, MOF score, Injury Severity Score, morbidity and mortality. Levels of cytokines involved in the inflammatory and metabolic response such as TNFa, IL6 and IL10, and WBC and CRP, and lactate/base excess. All these parameters will be related to the level of FABP and Claudin in serum and urine to test the diagnostic and prognostic significance of FABp/Claudin.
