Inclusion Criteria
Age 18 to 60 years
patients on mechanical ventilation for more than 24 hours
Ability to tolerate SBT for 1 hour before ultrasound
stable hemodynamics
conscious and oriented
minimal tracheobronchial secretions
effective cough response
Exclusion Criteria
Patients with neuromuscular disease
Patients with pneumothorax
Patients with diaphragmatic paralysis
