At 18 months, Nano filled resin sealant had higher percentage of teeth with complete sealant retention (67.2%) when compared to conventional sealant at (55.2%), difference was not statistically significant. It is concluded that the Nano filled resin sealant investigated, yielded an acceptable performance in sealing the occlusal pits and fissures of mandibular permanent first molar, when followed up over a period of 18 months, which is comparable to that of conventional pit and fissure sealants.

- •Inclusion criteria of children included; a) Decayed-Filled Teeth (DFT) score of 3-6 and, b) presence of at least one pair of contralateral permanent mandibular first molars with deep fissures or non cavitated carious lesions c) Their entire occlusal surface was exposed without the presence of operculum covering the tooth.
排除标准
- •Exclusion criteria included: a) teeth with discolouration, restorations, cavitations or developmental defects and, b) children who were physically and mentally challenged or with gross orofacial defects or have debilitating diseases were also excluded from the study.
