Inclusion Criteria
1.American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I or II
2.Age of 1 to 5 years
3.Either gender
4.Estimated operation time of <= 3 hours and anaesthesia time of <= 4 hours
5.Written informed consent of parents to undergo the therapeutic regimen
Exclusion Criteria
1.Renal dysfunction (serum creatinine > 1.2mg/dl)
2.Liver dysfunction (liver enzymes twice the normal range or higher)
3.Allergy to study medication
4.Participants parents devoid of postoperative telephone access

Name Time Method 1. Spontaneous breathing recovery time (from the end of drug infusion to recovery of spontaneous breathing) <br/ ><br>2. Degree of sedation: <br/ ><br> 3. Hemodynamic indices: <br/ ><br>4. Anaesthesia time (from anesthesia induction to extubation); and operative time (from skin incision to the end of suturing) will be noted <br/ ><br>5. Intraoperative MAC requirement will be noted every 10 mins <br/ ><br>6. Duration of PACU stay <br/ ><br>Timepoint: Every 10 minutes postoperatively till discharge from pacu area
