b). Elective open heart surgery including coronary artery bypass surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass for left main or triple vessel disease and other elective cardiac surgeries.______________________________________

c). Normal preoperative sinus rhythm____________________________________

Exclusion Criteria

a). Previous history of supraventricular arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, or atrial flutter;

b). __Bradycardia or a heart rate less than 50 beats/min (bpm); ________________________________________________________

c). __A second-degree or third-degree atrioventricular block;

d). ___evere chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or pulmonary impairment;

e). Known hypersensitivity to β-blockers or ivabradine;

f). An ejection fraction less than 30% (limiting eligibility to the beta blocker group).
