1)Elderly aged 60 years and above
2)With self-reported insomnia or reported by family member (definition of insomnia will follow fulfilment of the A and B criteria of DSM 5 criteria for Insomnia disorder)
-With current history of delirium
-With terminal medical illness
-Parkinsons disease, dementia
-Patients with documented severe mental illness- Severe depression, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, Bipolar affective disorder, Obsessive-compulsive disorder
-Obstructive sleep apnoea already on treatment
-Patients with restless leg syndrome, who fulfil all 5 essential features of diagnostic criteria established by the International Restless Legs Syndrome Study Group
-Patients who fulfil ICD-10 criteria for Alcohol Dependence syndrome in the last 6 months
-Patients who are on medications that interfere with sleep like benzodiazapines and etizolam, stimulants
-Patients who are on anti-depressants and antipsychotics and drugs for treatment of insomnia

Name Time Method Elderly with insomnia receiving sleep hygiene behavioural intervention along with treatment as usual will have improved subjective sleep qualityTimepoint: Immediately after intervention, and 1 month and 3 months after the intervention
