Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • For Study Participants:
  • Anaesthesia residents with 6\-12 months of training
  • For Patients undergoing surgery under general anaesthesia:
  • 1\. ASA I/II
  • 2\. 18\-60 years
  • 3\. Surgery requiring arterial cannulation in elective surgery

Exclusion Criteria

  • For Study Participants:
  • 1\.Participant refusal
  • 2\.Residents who are already trained in radial artery cannulation
  • 3\.Residents who have done \>5 radial artery cannulations
  • For Patients:
  • 1\.Patient refusal
  • 2\.Abnormal modified Allenââ?¬•s test
  • 3\.Peripheral vascular disease
  • 4\.SBP \<90 mm of Hg
  • 5\.BMI \>30 kg/cm2
