- Brief Summary
This study is a prospective randomised study to compare the primary outcome which is thetime taken for successful subclavianvein cannulation between supraclavicular versus infraclavicularapproach under ultrasound guidance in ICU patients of Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. secondary outcome is
•Timetaken for puncture of vessel (time taken from placement of ultrasound probeover the skin to aspiration of blood from subclavianvein)
•Incidenceof complications
•Noof attempts and redirection of the needle
•Easeof insertion – (graded as excellent, good, bad)
•CalculationSCVCI (Subclaviancentral venous catheter insertion )score:
