A prospective randomized study to compare the efficacy of TAP block versus spinal anaesthesia with respect to following parameters-Achieve an adequate anaesthesia, hemodynamic profile, incidence of adverse effects and post operative analgesia for inguinal hernia repair in adults

Inclusion Criteria

60 Patients of ASA physical status I/II, in the age group of 18-60 years of either sex, scheduled for elective open inguinal hernia repair.

Exclusion Criteria

Consent not given ASA Grade 3 and above Hypersensitivity to study drugs Bleeding disorders Co-morbid conditions Contraindications to regional anaesthesia BMI ≥30 kg/m2, Irreducible / Strangulated /recurrent Inguinal hernia Preoperative chronic use of other analgesia (opioids or nonsteroidal anti‑inflammatory drugs).

Primary Outcome Measures

To evaluate the efficacy of ultrasound guided TAP block as an anaesthetic technique for inguinal hernia repair in adults, compared to Spinal Anesthesia.Outcome will be assessed by VAS score	immediately after tracheal extubation, 15 min, 30 min and then hourly until the first rescue analgesic
