Inclusion Criteria
The periodontal condition was graded as follows on the basis of the current classification method for periodontal diseases localized or generalized periodontitis of stage II or stage III with grade B or grade C.
Exclusion Criteria
Exclusions for both groups included metabolic disorders, high blood pressure, treated with antihypertensive medications, and periodontal therapy and antibiotic treatment 3 months prior the study. Smoking habits, education status were also recorded.
