1)Aged 20 or older
2)HAMD-17>=14
3)Can understand the objective of the study and sign informed consent
4)If the subject is woman of childbearing age, the patient who does not plan to become pregnant and who uses appropriate contraceptive method
5)With ability to perform the procedure of study, administration of drug, visit to thi clinic as study protocol or with caretaker or clear officer who can help to perform the study procedure((eg, family, social workers, social work, volunteer, or nurse)
1)history of significantly unstable or uncontrollable medical condition, 2)unavailability to perform the psychiatric examination due to an acute physical illness
3)currently diagnosed or had history of other psychiatric disorder on DSM-IV Axis I : bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, schizophreniform disorder, psychotic disorder NOS)
4)history of organic mental disorder, epilepsy or other convulsive disorder
5)history of prescribing anticonvulsant
6)patients needed hospitalization due to the psychiatric condition other than depression( abuse/dependence of alcohol/other substance)
7)history of ECT for current depressive episode
8)Pregnancy or breastfeeding
