Inclusion Criteria

  • 1. Age over 18 year-old and less than 80 year-old
  • 2. Septic shock is diagnosed in ER. (SIRS criteria ≥2 or qSOFA ≥2, require vasopressor for keeping MAP > 65 mmHg and serum lactate > 2 mmol/L)

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1. Can not start intervention within 24 hours after septic shock is diagnosed
  • 2. Prior antioxidant use eg. N-acetylcysteine, vitamin E, selenium, coenzyme Q10
  • 3. There are contraindications for intravenous vitamin C (Allergic to vitamin C, bilateral ureteric obstruction, chronic hemodialysis, iron overload, oxalate stone former, hemochromatosis, G6PD deficiency and sickle cell disease)
  • 4. Pregnant or breastfeeding woman
  • 5. Patient who survives following CPR
  • 6. Palliative care patients
  • 7. Patients who will be enrolled in this study previously.
  • 8. Patients who will be enrolled in other drug trials within 30 days before enrolment in this study
