Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Patients admitted with acute acidotic hypercapnic respiratory failure and treated with NIV
- •Patients who fulfil the weaning criteria after 1 hour of spontaneous breathing with supplemental oxygen
- •Arterial pH of 7\.35 and above
- •SpO2 of 90 and above
- •Respiratory rate of 25 and below
- •Heart rate of 100 and below
- •SBP of 90 and above
Exclusion Criteria
- •NIV use at home for chronic repiratory failure or palliative care
- •CPAP use for acute respiratory failure
