Inclusion criteria for patients:
Adult patients ( >18 years, both men and women) with primary NAFLD
Clinical, biochemical, and imaging-based diagnosis with or without liver biopsy along with Fibro Scan
Patients with features of metabolic syndrome
Inclusion criteria for the control population:
Adult healthy individuals ( >18 years of age, both men and women) without NAFLD and any other liver diseases
Individuals without features of metabolic syndrome
Exclusion criteria for patients:
Alcohol consumption >25ml/ day for females and >38ml/ day for males
Patients with secondary NAFLD and other liver diseases
Pregnant and pediatric population
Exclusion criteria for the control population:
Patients with abnormal liver function tests for any other reasons other than NAFLD
Alcohol consumption >25ml/ day for females and >38ml/ day for males
