All the consecutive patients with CLD (irrespective of the etiology and the disease severity) having vitamin D deficiency along with hepatic osteodystrophy would be enrolled
1.Patients undergoing recent contrast study or nuclear medicine test.
2.Pregnant or lactating women
3.Patients with related thyroid, parathyroid disease, cushingâ??s syndrome, diabetes, malignancies, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and renal disease.
4.Patients with a history of immobilization in the past, known cases of osteoporosis on anti-osteoporotic drugs
5.Women with surgical menopause
6.Patients receiving calcium and vitamin D supplementation for <4 weeks before enrollment
7.Patients receiving medications like steroids, HRT, calcitonin, bisphosphonates, anti-coagulants, anticonvulsants, thyroxine, antiepileptics, interferon, immunosuppressive agents, cholestryamine.
8.Patients with hemachromatosis and Wilsonâ??s disease
9.Patients who refuse to participate in the study
