Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Patients belonging to American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I \& II
- •Patients undergoing ventriculoperitoneal shunt surgery
- •Age group between 16 and 50 years
- •Hemodynamically stable
- •Patients on phenytoin therapy\>\=7 days
Exclusion Criteria
- •History of hypertension, diabetes or other systemic illness
- •History of drug or alcohol abuse
- •History of chronic pain or daily intake of analgesics
- •History of intake of nonsteroidal anti\-inï¬?ammatory drugs within 24 h before surgery
