- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method
The primary objective of this study is to investigate whether the *Dynamic

Adaptive Healing Lighting System* (DAHLS) increases ischemic stroke patient*s

psychological well-being (indicated by an improved emotional state, faster

recovery, and a higher satisfaction) and the staff*s satisfaction as measured

by various questionnaires.

Parameters:

Improved emotional state:

- Less feelings of depression

- Diminished anxiety

- Reduced hostility

- Increased appetite

- Improved general feelings

Faster recovery:

- Better performance daily activities

- Lower disability/dependence

Improved satisfaction:

- Higher patient satisfaction

- Higher staff satisfaction

- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method
The secondary objective of this study is to investigate whether the *Dynamic

Adaptive Healing Lighting System* (DAHLS) has a measurable effect on nocturnal

sleep and/or diurnal alertness, perceived stress and/or pain in ischemic stroke

patients, as these aspects have been hypothesized to be the underlying

mechanisms for the positive effect of DAHLS on the patient*s psychological

well-being.

Parameters:

Improved nocturnal sleep

Improved diurnal alertness

Stress reduction

Reduced pain perception
