Impaired glucose tolerance according to national and international guidelines (2-h-glucose concentration after OGTT between 140-199 mg/dl), nonsmoker for at least 3 months, written informed consent
Intake of drugs that may affect primary or secondary outcome measures; intake of antibiotics within the last 6 weeks; hepatic and gastrointestinal diseases accompanied with diarrhea and malabsorption; allergies, intolerances and aversions against mushrooms and components of the test meal; cardiac pacemaker or other implantable electronic devices; pregnancy/lactation; planned changes in lifestyle (e.g. by diet); regular consumption of foods or supplements rich in ß-glucans

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Glucose-AUC (Area under the curve), based on glucose concentration in sodium fluorid plasma which will be determined before and 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180 and 240 min after meal consumption
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Gucose metabolism (insulin in serum, GIP and GLP-1 in EDTA-plasma), lipid metabolism (triglycerides and non-esterified free fatty acids in serum), hunger and satiety (determined by means of visual analog scales; ghrelin in EDTA-plasma); <br>determination before as well as 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120, 180 and 240 min after meal consumption
