Study Overview
Brief Summary
This study is an observational cohort study to find out the incidence and prognosis of Acute Kidney Injury in patients of Acute Myocardial Infarction. It is being done at Pacific Medical college and Hospital ,Udaipur.Acute Kidney Injury, if not identified & intervened at the earliest, may become partly irreversible or even progress to chronic kidney disease, which has a profound impact on cardiovascular outcomes in patients with acute coronary syndromes as well as in the general population. Worsening of renal function during admission for myocardial infarction is a powerful and independent predictor of in-hospital and 1-year mortality as per previous studies. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the incidence of Acute Kidney Injury, as defined by the KDIGO, in the acute phase of a myocardial infarction, thereby making vigorous efforts to preserve renal function as we attempt to salvage and protect cardiac muscle.
