Study Overview

Brief Summary

This study is a case control study to develop a regression model for predicting the risk of osteoporosis among older adults.Apredictive model may help address the limitations of diagnostic tools in termsof usability, accessibility and cost. A model incorporating risk factors andphysical performance measures for predicting osteoporosis among older adults islacking.

Permission has been sought from Institutional Research Commitee, SOAHS and Institutional Ethics Commitee, Kasturba Medical College and Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.

Permission has been sought from the respective authors for the questionnaires.

Informed consent and Participant Information sheet will be administered to the subjects priorly, values will be recorded after which data will be analyzed and will be reported.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Age group
  • 80 Either gender Mini mental state examination score ≥24 Ambulant without assistance.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Known neuromuscular, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal conditions contraindicated for physical performance measures.
  • End stage disease.
