Inclusion Criteria
all ICU patients with Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
Exclusion Criteria
Undrained pneumothoraces
Hemodynamic instability defined by increased need of vasopressors and / or an systolic arterial pressure below 90 mmHg
Hypovolemic shock
Bronchopleural fistula
High intracranial pressure
