1. Adults of either gender ( <40 years young group, >40 years older group) suffering from
cardiovascular diseases (a narrow age range to avoid age-related circadian variations)
2. Cardiovascular disease diagnosed based on the clinical manifestations and confirmed
through an electrocardiogram (ECG)
3. Age and gender (and occupation, if possible) matched healthy participants as control
subjects based on medical history, clinical examination, and laboratory investigations
4. Subjects (patients and controls) willing to provide written informed consent and comply
with protocol requirements
1. Subjects reluctant to provide written informed consent or to comply with the study
protocol
2. Subjects with any significant medical history (ongoing or in the recent past)
3. Currently diagnosed with a neurological or sleep disorder (narcolepsy, obstructive sleep
apnea, restless leg syndrome) and/or being prescribed a non-psychotropic medication that
can alter sleep and circadian rhythms (such as cortisone)
4. Subjects with severe anemia (Hb level < 7g/dL)
5. Female patients who are pregnant at the time of enrolment
6. Subjects who are chronic alcoholics or smokers
