Patient was transported to the hospital after administering airway protection measures
The emergency physician/paramedic administering airway protection measures is a part of a rescue unit of the Rettungszweckverband Südwestsachsen (Emergency Services Association of Southwest Saxony)
Patient was not transported to the hospital after administering airway protection measures (death of the patient on scene)

Name Time Method Aim of this study: providing a review of current trends in airway protection in the Rettungszweckverband Südwestsachsen and answering the following questions:<br><br>- How often and in which manner is prehospital airway protection being trained?<br><br>- What significance does the use of a video laryngoscope have in prehospital airway protection?<br><br>- What significance do muscle relaxants have when being confronted with a prehospital cannot ventilate – cannot intubate situation in a patient/when having difficulties with mask ventilation in a patient?<br><br>- What significance do supraglottic airway devices have for prehospital airway protection? <br><br>- What are common characteristics of airway protection in the Emergency Services Association of Southwest Saxony. <br><br><br>
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Collection of data: interviews by phone (questionnaire prepared in advance) with emergency physicians and EMS personnel after administering prehospital airway protection measures.<br><br>Topics:<br>-Personal medical background and experience<br>-Airway protection measures in an EMS call <br><br>If one person has to administer airway protection measures in a prehospital setting more than once during the period of observation, that person will be interviewed after every eligible EMS call. <br>
