Inclusion Criteria

ASA I and II

Euthyroid state

Scheduled for elective thyroid surgery under general anaesthesia

Exclusion Criteria

1) Retrosternal goitre

2) Morbid obesity

3) Intolerance or contraindication to any medication used in the study

4) Inability to understand the study protocol or the pain scale

5) Previous thyroid/neck surgery

6) Pregnancy

7) Chronic use of opioids,corticosteroids or any analgesic drug
