Inclusion Criteria
- •1. Written informed consent
- •2. Physician-confirmed diagnosis of COPD (spirometry) (FEV1 = 80% predicted)
- •3. Smoking history: Min. 10 packyears
Exclusion Criteria
- •1.Inability to understand the nature, scope, and possible consequences of the study
- •2. Life expectancy of less than 12 months
- •3. Newly diagnosed active pulmonary tuberculosis within the last 12 months
- •4. Unstable cardiopulmonary or metabolic co-morbidities
- •5. Macrolide maintenance treatment
