- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To compare the gastric antral area ( GAA) and gastric residual volume(GRV) using ultrasound in critically ill medical / surgical patients with successful and unsuccessful enteral feedingTimepoint: 0 hours, 1hours, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To correlate changes in GAA and GRV at various time points in patients where enteral feed is accepted or failed.Timepoint: At zero, one, two, three and four hours of the feed;To evaluate the efficacy of ultrasound parameters in prediction of acceptance of enteral feed in medical / surgical ICUTimepoint: Throughout the study; To evaluate the utility of ultrasound as a tool to measure gastric residual volume in critically ill patientsTimepoint: Throughout the study
