Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • ) Patients ASA (American society of anesthesia) 1\-3 physical status
  • 2\)Age 18\-80 year of either sex
  • 3\)Patients undergoing major abdominal surgery

Exclusion Criteria

  • ) Patients refusal
  • 2\) Infection at site of epidural needle insertion
  • 3\) Coagulopathy or bleeding disorder
  • 4\) Increased intracranial pressure
  • 5\) Allergy to local anesthetics
  • 6\) Pregnancy
  • 7\) Severe hypotension, hypovolemia
  • 8\) History of known allergy to drugs used in the study
  • 9\) Any other relative contraindication of epidural anesthesia
  • 10\) Blockage or intrathecal migration of epidural catheter during intraoperative or postoperative period.
