1. 50 Years and older
2. Patients who meet the Peterson diagnostic criteria of MCI with memory problems at least for 3 months
3. clinical dementia rating score: 0.5
4. global deterioration scale score: 2-3
5. Hachinski ischemic score < 4
6. at least 6 years of education
7. agreed with written informed consent
1. Dementia by Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV
2. History of cognitive impairment due to any other cause (head trauma or brain injury, etc.)
3. History of cerebral hemorrhage or infarction
4. Parkinson’s disease, normal pressure hydrocephalus, brain tumor, cerebrovascular disease
5. psychiatric illnesses such as schizophrenia, delusional disorder, bipolar disorder
6. severe medical disease (diabetic complications, cardiovascular, hepatic, or renal disorder, malignancy)
7. anemia, hypothyroidism, vitamin deficiencies
8. any history of drug or alcohol dependence during the past 6 months
9. currently taking any medication for cognitive function
10. received any treatment for MCI within 2 weeks
11. illiterate
12. Patients who were involved in other clinical trials within 4 weeks
13. known hypersensitivity reaction after acupuncture treatment or inability to cooperate with acupuncture procedure
14. pregnant, expecting pregnant or nursing women
15. difficult for adaptation that treatment, visit, answer the questionnaire
16. Those who are not willing to comply with this study protocol
