All patients with index episode of Acute Pancreatitis presenting upto four weeks after onset of pain and fulfilling the diagnostic criteria for Acute Pancreatitis and having a baseline contrast enhanced Computed Tomogra-phy(CT) of Abdomen performed according to pancreatic protocol at least 5-7 days after onset of pain.
1.Patients having previous episodes of presumed or diagnosed Acute Pancreatitis with vascular complications
2. Patients diagnosed to have chronic pancreatitis either at evaluation or during the follow up period. Chronic pancreatitis will be diagnosed when a patient has recurrent episodes of upper abdominal pain of pancreatic origin with the following additional criteria9. (A) Pancreatic calcifications. (B) Moderate or marked ductal lesions (ac-cording to the Cambridge classification) (C). Marked and persistent exocrine insufficiency defined as pancreatic steatorrhea markedly reduced by enzyme supplementation. (D) Typical histology of an adequate histological specimen
3. Patients or parents who are not willing to give consent.
4. Patients who are HIV positive
5. Pregnant females
6. Patients of Recurrent Acute Pancreatitis without previous vascular complications
7. Chronic Pancreatitis
8. Any associated malignancy
9. Cirrhosis and established portal hypertension
10.Patients on antiplatelets/ anticoagulants
